Innergy covers this scope for multifamily construction and commercial construction projects across all 7th states in our service territory: TX, WA, OR, CO, UT, NM, or AZ .

What Division 10 Specialties Includes

Division 10 groups the prefabricated specialty items that are installed near the end of a project, each under its own CSI section:

  • Toilet and bath accessories (10 28 00). TP holders, towel bars, grab bars, soap dispensers, and robe hooks per the unit-type matrix and ADA requirements. The blocking these accessories need is specified before drywall advances, which is where a piecemeal bid most often leaves a gap.
  • Toilet compartments and partitions (10 21 13). Powder-coated steel, solid plastic, and phenolic partitions for commercial restrooms, ceiling-hung, floor-mounted, or floor-to-ceiling per the drawings.
  • Signage (10 14 00). Room identification, directional, and informational signage meeting the ADA Standards for Accessible Design, with mounting heights and latch-side placement confirmed before ordering.
  • Fire protection specialties (10 44 00). Fire extinguisher cabinets and Knox boxes, supplied and installed, with the Knox box location coordinated with the applicable fire authority ahead of the occupancy inspection.
  • Postal specialties (10 55 00). USPS-approved mailbox systems, with rough-opening coordinates provided to the GC at preconstruction.
  • Lockers (10 51 00) and wire shelving. Amenity and back-of-house lockers, plus ventilated wire shelving for closets and pantries by unit type.

Why Division 10 Is Bid as a Single Package

Division 10 looks simple on a drawing set, but its items touch other trades at specific moments: accessories need blocking before drywall, partitions need floor and wall conditions set in advance, and the Knox box and fire extinguisher cabinets need sign-off from the fire authority before the occupancy inspection. When the division is split across several low bids, the coordination between those moments is nobody’s clear responsibility, and the gaps surface late. Carrying the full Division 10 scope under one supply-and-install package keeps the blocking, rough-ins, and inspection coordination with one accountable party. For where those gaps open when the division is bid piecemeal, see what a Division 10 package includes. For how each finish maps to its CSI division and section number, see the full CSI divisions guide.
